This week I was out of commission Monday through Thursday due to a pesky little head cold. I felt like a serious sinus was approaching, so I fell back and rested. I really wanted to run, but I chose to rather be safe than sorry.
It worked like a charm. I ended up having three great runs at the end of the week, including my best 6-miler ever. I shaved 3 minutes off last weeks time, despite cold temps and wind gusts up to 30 mph. The wind was so strong, I swear I was running in place sometimes.
WEEK 18 Recap:
- Monday: sick & resting
- Tuesday: sick & resting
- Wednesday: sick & resting
- Thursday: feeling better
- Friday: 4 miles
- Saturday: 3 miles
- Sunday: 6 miles
- TOTAL: 13 MILES
Injury/Health Report: I feel completely fine. Even my hip feels fine. Those few days off really paid off. I felt strong on Friday, Saturday and especially Sunday.
Tech Report: Nothing to report, but I'm looking forward to getting some goodies from the Philadelphia Marathon Expo. Things to scope out (and possibly buy of the price is right):
- Fuel/hydration belt
- Headband/ear-warmer
- Long-sleeved Under Armour
- Sports bras
- Post-long run slip-ons
- Running sneakers
Did I mention that I'm totally stoked about my 8K this weekend? Well, if I haven't...I'm REALLY excited about the race this weekend!

Almost Thirty
